I know, that's a weird title for a blog, but at my gig the other day I decided to ask the audience if they had any questions for me, and one of them was d'ya like dags delivered in a quite ropey Irish accent. I'm not ashamed to say that in the moment I had no idea how to answer that question - but did quite well with the others, like what's your favourite pasta. Asking the audience to ask me questions has now become part of my cunning plan to make my live shows a little less awkward in between songs as I'm often lost for something decent to say other than 'here's a new song' which I'm aware is not really very engaging after the 6th new song.
I also decided to record the gig, and so for the first time you can listen to the highlights if you couldn't make it along, or if you loved it so much you want to hear the best bits again. Be prepared for my dry sarcasm, a little bit of swearing, stage conversations (including my answer to the pasta question), as well as some songs, including a full reworked version of my show closer 'I'll Be Back' - which went down so well I think I'm going to release it in the future, hopefully on the next album.
I'd also like to make a public apology to Josh who played on the same night - listening back to the audio my sarcasm comes across as a bit mean (you'll see what I'm talking about!), but I am still jealous that you can play the guitar the way you do when it's not your first instrument! Hope to see you again soon.
Anyway for now I hope you enjoy the highlights, and let me know in the comments if you enjoyed it or have any questions or suggestions for stage topics of conversation.
PS. Yep....I like dags!
