Mister Jones is a singer-songwriter living in the seaside town of Brighton, UK. He is older than he looks and has written a lot of songs over the past 10 years. Most days you will find him walking his dog, learning to run, working too hard in his day job, writing songs, or studying for his degree in social psychology. He writes quite serious songs but in person tells ‘quite terrible' jokes and tries not to take life too seriously!
“Songwriting for me is quite personal, an opportunity to cut the bullshit and be honest, to create some kind of escape or reassurance for both me and the listener. My songs are inspired by people I meet, people I love, feelings I don’t understand and moments I don’t want to forget.”
His latest EP ‘Paper Boat’ was written and recorded over a six week period and returns to a more acoustic and intimate sound when compared with his previous EP 'We Can Talk This All Through in the Morning’. Opening track ’Two Bananas’ explores ageing, oversharing, and finding contentment in the little things in life. Title track ‘Paper Boat’ looks at broken relationships and uneven love, closing with ’Stranger to me Now’ which focusses on lost connections.
He hopes you enjoy something here and hopes to see you at a show, where he promises not to refer to himself in the third person.
“It should be no surprise that he writes charming songs, what is heart warming is just how bloody disarming those songs can be!”
